Landsec wanted a festive campaign that would bring an increase in footfall, high energy and shareable, heart-warming festive cheer to both Trinity Leeds and St David’s. The goal was to create an activation that felt unforgettable, that would engage shoppers both on-site and online with a seasonal push that would boost centre visits and goodwill to all!

The campaign content drove high engagement, sharp social reach, delivered a year-on-year uplift in footfall in the centres themselves and helped reinforce Landsec’s reputation for community-driven retail destinations with heart. Merry Christmas indeed!

the campaign
Our plan was to build a full on festive extravaganza with a large sprinkle of holiday magic to create those you-had-to-be-there moments.
We started at Trinity Leeds, where we had local personalities ready to host and distribute £3,500 in gift cards to delighted guests, flash mobs to add energy and sparkle, chocolate coins, confetti cannons and – of course – a visit from Father Christmas himself.
We then took the campaign to Wales and delivered £15,000 of Christmas magic across the unforgettable two-day event. Again, the centre was transformed into a full-scale festive celebration, offering guests the chance to win everything from luxury VIP shopping sprees to instant treats. A Christmas parade featuring FC again (how does he do it?) brought the experience to life.
While the centres were buzzing with Christmas spirit, Team TCE was busy on-site capturing every magical moment, shooting live content, grabbing footage and stills and editing on the fly so that it landed instantly in social feeds. From there, our community management team was on hand to answer any questions that arose online and share UGC.
